Chevy Impala problems with getting fuel?

I noticed a couple of months ago my 2000 Chevy Impala was sputtering a bit when it was started. I tuned it up (plugs, wires, fuel filter) and the problem was not solved. I tried putting Shell V-Power gas which seemed to help but today my car would not start. It would chug a bit but would die out before i could get into gear. I figured it was the fuel pump but the car started eventually. I had made it about 2 miles (rolling through stop signs) before the car died again and did not start. We pushed it about a mile before it started again, where i made it to a garage.

If it started eventually and drove a couple of miles, could it still be the fuel pump?? or could it be a sensor??

thank you for your help

Replace the fuel filter and if that doesn't help, have the fuel pressure checked. That will tell if it's the fuel pump or not>

I would find someone with a fuel pressure gage and have the pressure at the fuel rail checked to make sure that your getting the right pressure, then I would have the fuel pressure regulator checked to make sure that was working properly and then I would try the fuel pump ,If that has the 3.4ltr motor then the fuel pressure reg is going to be on the driver side of the engine under the intake manifold, if you get it off and you pull the vacuum hose off and it is full of gas then that is the problem, if it isn't then check both ends of the vacuum line going to the fuel reg to make sure there isn't anything wrong with that

check the catalytic converter, mine went bad in an 02 impala ls a couple months ago. is would start by not run and any high speed about 20mph max.. if it is there is a warrenty on it for 8yrs/80,000 miles that gm will fix for free if it's under that.

I'd inspect rear motor mounts.
