going to stop (every 600 miles) and will list hotels so I can make reservations and such. I looked at the AAA site and it is not helpful at all!! Please, my husband and I will be driving with our two kids-hasn't anyone done this before?

mapquest, yahoo maps, google maps. I've actually made that exact trip (atl to la), I find it to be a quite awesome drive. lots of bewildering national parks and museums to stop at, assuming you take 78 to memphis and then i-40 all the way to los angeles/san diego. Mine was under quite difference circumstances however, I moved out to san diego and slept at truckstops all the way there. any questions i might could help you out with just send me an email or message
