My son has an Iquana...Ms Iggie. Unfortunately, with school he does not have the time to spend with her. He has learning disabilities and really needs to spend a lot of time with his homework and other school projects. Is there a rescue center for Iquana's in North Jersey?

thanks Raymond, but it's my sons idea. He feels bad that he can't spend time with her and would rather give her to someone experienced and with more time.

The best that I know is: http://www.scalesandtails.org/
Get a hold of them, they should be able to help. I know they are in New Jersey, do not know how far you are from them.
Good choice to know when it is best to give an animal away.
they are a sight for people to adopt pets and you should be able to put up a posting for you iguana. If not able to put up a posting of your own you can at least look up your area and find the local shelters in your area with good references.
I'd argue that giving up the iguana would be traumatic for your son, and for the household, it would be worth minor sacrifices to keep the "family" together?
I'd argue that the trauma of this loss would far outweigh making arrangements to keep him at home. Really, how much bother would it be for the family to assist in keeping him and "the Family" together/ think about it.
