2001 Sebring Keyless Entry?

I have a customer who I couldn't answer this Q!
He took his Sebring to the Chrysler Dealer to get a new Remote programmed (he has none at all) the dealer couldn't program the thing and are baffled. Any Chrysler Dodge folks out there who have seen this or been through it. I know how to program a second remote but the dealer has to program 1 if there are none. But gee thay can't

there are a few stupid ways to do the mitsubishi 2 door. i always hate grabbing a repair order, walking out to get a car, and finding one of these. you can use the scan tool, or there is a pin in the dlc you can ground, sometimes you have to push the hazard button 3 times to ernter program mode. i remember one tech calling the tech line for this one time and he had to push the hazard button 99 times! the main thing i have found on these, is you have to have the driver's door closed or it will not enter program mode. i would almost be the dealer didn't have the door closed.

there is a different way to do a mitsu.. i have seen them have a lot of trouble with them but on older models.. is it a 2 door?? because then i think it is a mitsu have them look at the bulletin for the 97.. it may help them . if a 4 door then something is wrong somewhere,. maybe he needs to go to a different dealer but if you have a way to pull up tsbs check the 97 2.5v6 lxi. that's what i have and mine is a mitsu (sebring) and i know the tsb fits that. it tells you how to program are they sure its equipped with keyless?? some were not

You need to call a dealership's parts department with the vin# and they can look at the vehicles option list and see IF it even has keyless entry (I've had the same problem a few times) people try to program a keyless entry remote when the vehicle isn't even equipped with keyless entry.

red, their supposed to be able to take the vin number and it pulls up another number that they use on it,i been through this only once in doing all of this, but the time i had they couldn't pull up the right code for it,seems Chrysler didn't use the vin to enter a code with ,i had one and the told me to point it at the car and hold the button down and just wait a few minutes and it would read from the car,and it did,but every few days it would erase its self, that's all i can tell you ,i know this much i hate fooling with those things, they wind up being more of a head ache than their worth, good luck with it.
