Spray the fruit, and the flies that are in the air with water so the little buggers can't fly. Wipe them up with a paper towel and throw it away. Then wash your fruit and dry it well. Eat the fruit soon, sounds like it is really ripe if the fruit flies came with it.

They came following the odors of fruits. You can wash the fruit with water and soap and rinse with water. That would kill almost all, but as they live no more than a week, if they don't find some place to leave the eggs and reproduce, they would disappear soon.

I use the vacuum cleaner - I switch it on and suck the fruit flies in. Then I wash the fruit. Works like a charm.

Remove fruit and foods that are out in open. You may even need to wash your fruit and dry it before doing so. They are a nuisance but they have a short lifespan and will be gone in a couple more days.
