NJ Auto Accident?

I know this is a dumb question, but feel I have to ask, and please serious replies ONLY.

I stopped short and hit a vehicle infront of me and they hit the vehicle infront of them. No airbag deployment occured and no damages were visible, so we all agreed to go on our way and no one wanted to exchange info.
I am driving down about a mile and the car I hit waves me down, I pull over and they claim that air bag sensor is not turning off.
My questions are:
Should I have them go to MY mechanic and not their's?
How do I know light was not on prior to accident?
If it is her air bag sensor, then isnt it on because she hit someone?

Serious replies are so welcome. Thank you all

Any sort of accident I would turn in to your insurance compnay. I know that people are scared to have their ratesgo up but at least you do not have to worry about any backlash coming up and you may be left holding the bag. I work for an insurance company and people think they will handle it out of pocket and low and behold then people are injuried trying to get extra money out of people. The sensor could of been triggered due to the incident and may have to be reset by the dealer ect. I would turn it in and then you are protected and covered on all issues that can arise from the accident. I have seen people get really screwed and pay for stuff out of pocket and then the people turn it in to thier insurance company to get a check too and then thier insurance company will come after you. Hope this helps :o)

send them to your mechanic he can find out usually how long the light was on for. and if it is something serious like costs a lot of money to fix get your insurance company involved. Since it was your fault for causing the accident i would do whatever you can so you don't get screwed over in the long run cause i am assuming that you gave them you information when they waved you down. the sensor could just be a malfunction that the mechanic can fix in like one minute, unless he has to change it out.
Well good luck

Very often the airbag system will not deploy in an accident due to the parameters of the impact.
