Anyone know this song from Friends show?

In the episode TOW The Routine, Monica and Ross went to the New Year's Party where there was this song playing... It goes something like this :

"Watching for a sound(?) to lead me to wherever you go.. I can't help it..."

I tried googling it but it didnt help..

And also, at the end of the episode, there was a song which uses the melody of Auld Lang Syne, but a little more upbeat and with new lyrics. What is the title of that one?

The first song you are referring to is Smash Mouth's Every Word Means No. I remember this one from the show

The second could be Kevin Henry's Next Year, it certainly has a bit in it that is like Auld Lang Syne, but I don't remember the song in the show so I can't be sure.
