All birds lay eggs. Birds instinctively lay eggs only in the spring. Chickens and some breeds of ducks have been bred to lay eggs almost year round. Because of artificial lighting, they are tricked into laying even in the winter. Turkeys don't lay as many eggs as chickens and the eggs are much bigger than chicken eggs, It would not be practical from a farmers point of view to raise turkeys for the eggs because they require more feed than chickens. I have never eaten turkey eggs but I have eaten duck, goose and guinea eggs. All of them are much richer and more filling than chicken eggs. The guinea eggs also have a much stronger shell than chicken eggs. You have to hit one pretty hard to break it.

Do Turkeys Lay Eggs

All birds lay eggs, even penguins. I think you could probably get a fresh turkiey egg from a turkey farmer. I don't know how it would taste. Probably like chicken!

Yes turkeys lay eggs, but not very many. So producers keep the eggs to produce more turkeys.
