Kia Sportage- Why a strong gas smell on cold mornings?
Both inside and outside. 2001. 111,000 miles. Recently had timing belt replaced. What should I look for? Smell likely will be gone by the time I get to a mechanic.

You seriously need to get it checked out. It could be a serious problem.

These car have a temp. sensor that increase fuel delivery to the injectors to help with cold starting conditions. If the smell goes away after the vehicle is warm, I wouldn't worry about the smell. If it continues after the vehicle is warm, take it in.
