If the screws are stripped and won 't re tighten - the easiest fix is to take one of the screws that is stripped and go to Home Depot and get the same screws but 1/4 to 1/2 " longer and replace all the stripped out ones

not sure what side of the hinge the screws are loose on the door or frame.if on the frame side, try putting the wood splinters/tooth picks in again but this time also insert some gorilla glue in the hole first.don't know what size screw you are using but you need one long enough to reach into the framing of the door way at least 3"screws should do it. you could also replace the trim .if on the door itself reset the hinges.a little more work but it would be a better and more permanent fix.and use a wood filler to fill in the old hinge positions

If door is hung in a timber jamb
1/remove the door
2/ fill holes with plastic wood (available in tubes at your hardware store)
3/Leave until completly dry (next day)
4/ predrill holes slightly smaller than gauge of screws.
5/ Re hang door.
If door is in a steel jamb
Use a slightly larger self tapping screw

you can temporarily fix it by putting wood matches in the hole and then put the hing back on and replace the screw, make sure to brake matches off even with the hole ,that will hold for a while as long as no one hangs on the door.
. good luck
