What is Scientology's beliefs about the disabled?

Where did you hear this from?
I've been a Scientologist for over 35 years and never come across this. We talk about ability and disability but in terms of the spirit, not the body.
Scientology has no "beliefs" or even opinions about this kind of condition.
Scientology is knowledge about the spiritual nature of Man.
It's most basic datum is that we are all immortal spiritual beings and not our bodies.
Our technology addresses the handling of disability for the spirit not the body. We obviously consider that everyone is of value as a spiritual being regardless of the condition of their current body....Show more

I got into Scientology in 1972. Apart from the basic fallacy in the question (since Scientology doesn't have "beliefs" -- contrary to the cr*p that tends to get spouted on any question about Scientology) the idea that we might "loathe" disabled people is in itself completely loathsome.

Scientology encourages people to respect everyone else (and their beliefs incidentally) ... no exceptions.

Why not find out for yourself, rather than asking a gaggle of hatemongers?

If you mean the physically disabled, I don't think they consider them any different from other folks... if the disabled can pay money to "the Church", Scientology is fine with them.

If you mean MENTALLY disabled, that's another story. They don't "loathe" the mentally disabled so much as deny that any mental disability even EXISTS. Autism? Schizophrenia? Bipolar Disorder? They don't believe any of it exists....Show more

Im an ex-scientologist and I have a very disabled son. I dont remember anything like that.

But then I dont remember hearing or seeing most of what I hear here about scientology...Show more

If that be so
then no loss to me.
They are a false faith, anyway.
Man-made in entirety.
It shows in their inhumanity, as God the Creator would not turn away the disabled from love and grace.
Michael Jackson, Tom Cruise and others - do try and reevaluate your choice of the direction of your souls. Very sad. Very sad, indeed.
