they should be the same. the difference is in the drivetrain and suspension.

4WD has a front differential where a 2wd has none
4WD has a transfer case while a 2wd has none

Nope, Difference is that the 4WD version has a transfer case and a limited slip differential on the front of it. Extreme 4WD vehichles will like a Rubicon or Hummer will come with lockers that ensure that all 4 wheels are always spinning at the same speed, these lockers must be disengaged for regular driving though. If the vehichle says "Part-Time" 4WD you can't leave the 4WD on when the pavement is dry.
