Will you accept the mark of the beast?

The new testament was written nearly 2000 years ago. In the book of Revelations, it tells about a mark that everyone must get in order to buy or sell anything. However, if you receive this mark, you'll condemn yourself to hell.
I know most Christians will answer no. This question is geared toward athiests. If the bible knew about this mark 2000 years ago, wouldn't that tell you that the bible is true? Are you really willing to risk going to hell?

Revelation
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

the Mark of the beast, i don't think it will be a blatant micro chip, i think that is made to distract us from the true mark of beast as it will deceive many so many will get it without realising.

Without God its not possible to avoid it.

Many will only accept the bible when they see the Great White Throne, just before they get the fruits of their labour, but it will be way to late.

can u cite the literal text?
edit***

I found this: hope u like it:

The following current events are in motion to ease the public's acceptance of the Mark of the Beast:

1. Steadily, over the years, a one-world government is becoming a reality.

2. The unification of Europe is one step in the direction of a one-world government.
3. A common currency (the euro) is already established in most European nations.

4. English is the unifying language for the world -- the language of the internet.

5. The credit/debit card is making a cashless society a reality.

6. The debit card is used most everywhere and is accepted more easily than money.

7. Money in paper form is no longer accepted in many establishments, especially denominations of $50 and $100.

8. The implantation of foreign objects or organs into humans is already accepted by the public as "normal."

this is the link if u want more info. I only wrote what i thought it will be important to u.

You already need a mark in several forms to buy or sell something.

Look at money for instance with its number on it.

You got a credit card? It has several numbers on it and a magnetic strip!

How about a plain cash card? More numbers.

And how do you earn money? Well you have a social security number and probably a tax number! More numbers, numbers numbers. Any of which could be claimed as this alleged number of the beast. It is utter rubbish.

in what way does that constitute proof? what mark?? I assume you are talking about money? if so then why do religious groups have so much cash??

"The 2006 Annual Report for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles states it has about $488 million in assets and $451 million in liabilities making about $37 million in net assets."

No it doesn't constitute proof, its just yet another example of someones blind faith in a book written by some people 2000 years ago and reorganised by the romans (constantine). You really should check out the history of the bible.
