Well the "where" and "did it hurt" question for some of mine depends if your a girl or a guy. Obviously, if you're a guy you couldn't get the downstairs ones that I have. I have many piercings so it is quite hard to remember the pain for every single one, as it isn't that bad. That and the pain differs from person to person.
Piercings:
ears:
2x 5/8" lobes
2 more lobes - 14 and 2g
6g inner conch
tragus
snug
vertical lobe
2x industrial
---- The ear stretches really didn't hurt a bit, as they shouldn't.. the cartilage ones were sore for the first few months, and they took a year or so to heal. For the piercing itself it isn't too bad..it's the few weeks/months after that sucks. I've had one of the industrial ones for 3 years that still gets sore from time to time.---
body:
tongue - 1g
Septum
labret
--The first time I got my septum pierced it really hurt. But that is why you should do your research, and find a good piercer. After I got it re-pierced, at the correct location in my body, it did not hurt much at all. The labret/tongue didn't hurt much either.. I literally did not feel the needle go in for my tongue one -- although the week after (swelling) was annoying.
others:
2x nipples - 10g
2x navels - 2 and 14g
VCH - 10g
inner labias - 10g
outer labias - 12g
--The outer labias HURT for the piercing itself, and HURT for about two months after piercing. Those were the most painful piercings I have ever gotten. The other "downstairs" ones (vch/inner labias) were literally a quick pinch and they were over. The nipples and navels weren't too awful bad.. it hurt for awhile as they get bumped very easily.--
If you are undecided on a piercing you could search up pictures on www.bmezine.com, and peoples' experiences if you're worried about the pain.

I have 6 piercings 4 in my ears one nose and one tongue I want 2 more. My ears were easy to care for and no pain. My tongue and nose I had done at the same time. I used Listerine to prevent infection and it numbed the pain for brief periods of time. The worst experience I had was an Italian dinner with wine tasting. The wine tasting was first and the pain snuck up on me. My mouth hurt so bad I could not enjoy any meals for 3 days. My nose hurt only when I accidentally pulled out the stud when I washed and dried my face. So I learned quickly to be gentle until I healed.

Anything you get pierced will be a bit sore after wards. If you really don't want the soreness, try using ice to make the swelling go down, and something like Ibuprofen to stop the pain. I would also suggest you just get in after you go shopping, to have the best part of your day towards the end of the day.

I have my septum (14g), conch(14g) and 2 lobe (6g & 14g) piercings in each ear
of my CURRENT piercings the conch didn't hurt at all my lobes felt like a hard pinch and my septum... well I almost passed out get that done but the pain only lasts while the needle was going through and in my nose.
I have retired a labret, center lip, nostril, eyebrow and nipple piercings. Of those my Nostril hurt the most... to the point of tears, and my lip hurt the least.

Ears don't hurt that much on the lobes. I have mine double pierced. The cartalidge didn't really hurt at all either. However, the bellybutton piercing wasn't too bad in itself but hurt like hell when it was healing. I also have my nose pierced. Getting it done isn't too bad but be careful, the nose if very sensative and hurts when it's healing.
