"Neck of the Woods" means our area or our home. If someone told you to come to our "neck of the woods" they are asking you to go to their home or town.

Your area or neighborhood.
Like when Al Roker on the Today Show says, "Now here's a look at the weather in your neck of the woods."

Like everyone said: the phrase means where you live, but it's origin came from the fact that narrow strips of land, woods, or water are called "necks" -- so back in colonial times, when people were claiming their land, they would of course have land that would be touching other peoples land, so they would phrase it like"your neck of the woods" or "my neck of the woods" to indicate where the heck in the woods you were going to meet or work or whatever.

Around the time of the founding of our nation, a neck of the woods was a narrow portion of a larger wooded area, and it carried with it the connotation that you arrived there intentionally, as if to visit someone "accidentally on purpose," sort of like when a young man "accidentally" passed by his girlfriend's house because he "just happened to be passing through." One might say, "I happened by your neck of the woods." In modern times that idiom has lost much of its meaning, and it is now little more than "near your home" or "around your neighborhood."
