There's a whole world of music outside the US that's worth your time...I'll try and give you a variety: Franz Ferdinand, Mando Diao, The Ark (Sweden), Bebe (Spain), Mr. Hudson and the Library, Christina Sturmer, Stress (rapper from Switzerland), MIA, Klaxons (England), Gods of Blitz, Milburn, Orishas (Cuba), Traffic Island (Finland), The Mint Chicks, Paul Steel, Bedouin Soundclash, Calle 13, The Cribs (England), Gogol Bordello, Miyavi, Muse...to name a few. This is everything from indie rock to rap to J-Rock. If you're up for anything a little older but truly amazing, try T.Rex and Joy Division, two of my ultimate favorites.
