Why do people post the same question more than once in the same post? Some twice, others even more?

I see this all the time. It is at the top of the questions pages where it says "so-and-so posted a question" and right underneath it will be the same exact question again. Why do they do this?

OK, I realize this is a free country and people can post more than once if they want to. How unnecessary that was to point out to me! I am old enough to be a grandmother to some of you kids. Let's get real! Where is your respect?

I think some don't wait long enough for it to post so they figure it won't then they repost it.
I just wish they'd delete the duplicate when they realize it.

Possible point gaming. What you can do is add those questions to your Watchlist then later look to see if there is a pattern of awarding the same user Best Answer, which should be reported.

Then there is the possibility the person asking wants to be sure they expose the question to as many as they feel the need in a effort to get a answer to their question which is legal unless they really go overboard with posting too many times which then is a violation.

Well, sometimes, for some reason, a good question gets no answers, few answers, or no good answers. It all depends on who saw it and answered it. So by posting the question again, the poster is expanding the number of people who read the question and answer it. It makes sense, especially if the question is important in the point of view of the asker.

Also, for me, it happened several times that the internet got stuck and my question got posted twice. It's not my fault of course.

I'm guilty of this myself and the reason is I try to post a question, wait five minutes and then check to see if it posted. When I see that it didn't, I figure I did something wrong and enter it again and wait again to see if it is on the public forum...usually I see that it has posted twice by this time. I can understand why someone would think it hadn't posted and hit the enter button more than once because the system is slow.

If it hasn't happened to you, I'll bet that it does. Sometimes you try to enter a question and it doesn't post for nearly 20 minutes. A lot of people think they didn't do it right and try again. Most of us aren't very patient, I suppose.

HOWDY!!! froggsfriend,

I am glad some one else noticed and it is stupid for people to ask thee same question more than once. I deleted one of my contacts for that reason. If they don't get it the first time and need to ask a second time it may be okay, but more than that is out of line. One thing for sure it shows me that I am a little smarter and I am one of those that only has a 12th eduction.
So Long for Now:
