The Next Doomsday Prediction?

I've decided to beat the rush in 2013, and start working on a doomsday theory to publish. There will be a huge demand for fear and misinformation after Jan 01, 2013 rolls around, and I've decided to cash in on the next round. I think Feb 2nd of 2022 sounds like a particularly scary day, on the scientific grounds that it's composed entirely of twos. What other auspicious coincidences can I tie in to my theory to make it extra scary?

I'd like to propose another doomsday event: On November 22, 2024, there will be a planetary alignment. The 8 planets will lie in a sun-centered arc 102 degrees wide. This might not sound all that impressive, but it's the best alignment of the century.

At the last decent alignment in 1982, there was all sorts of nonsense about earthquakes and other disasters from "The Jupiter Effect" (a best-selling book in 1974). After nothing happened, the authors wrote another book saying that the real effect was in 1980, and that's the reason Mount St. Helens erupted. (So they actually got two books out of this idiocy.)

I'd go with April 13, 2036 (unfortunately, that's a Sunday instead of a Friday, but you can't have everything)

It's entirely coincidence that that corresponds to Barbie's dimensions (shoe size, hip size, bust size)

By 2029, we should know for sure. Apophis, an asteroid, was originally given a possibility of striking Earth in 2029, but a better analysis of the orbit revealed that it would miss the Earth. It does come close, so we can't get an accurate reading on its 2036 close approach until after its 2029 close approach.

Needs to be bad, but not so bad a person can't survive if they buy this little widget I've invented.

HMMM how about it being the result of moderns violating and destroying the Songlines in Australia.... The aboriginals have warned the OZ government about that for a long while.

You might be able to dig up something full of scary in Bruce Chatwin's, Songlines.

Well, there's another computer-based apocalypse coming: 2^32 seconds after Jan 1, 1970, the doomsday of Unix clocks. That's around then, I believe.

February is a bit of a upbeat month for a doomsday prediction isn't it, maybe a season in the dead of winter, most people hate cold weather so the idea of dieing in winter would have an even more depressing feel to it.
