My check engine light is on, and I had someone run a diagnostic. Apparently the P0125 code generally means my Thermostat needs replacing. How much should I expect to pay? I don't want to get jerked around, and pay too much. Are there other potential issues with that code? Is this something I could fix on my own?

break out a manuel. thermostats are usually cake let alone on a american car. good luck.

If you are at all mechanically inclined, it's easy to replace a thermostat. All you need are some basic tools a new thermostat and gasket. You may also need some extra coolant if you lose too much when you remove the top radiator hose.

first thing you've got to do is see what kind of engine you have in the car. it'll be easy on either...but it can affect cost. both should be pretty easy...2 or 3 easy bolts...swap the thermostat(spring down) and bolt back (make sure the gasket is in place. then fill with anti-freeze and make sure you have heat. done.

at an auto parts store if its the thermostat it will cost $9-$10 for the part

Could also be a faulty temp sending unit. Another typically simple fix.
