Asking questions?

Why do people ask questions on here about how to improve there life and what skills they need to be successful in a certain job then get upset when you answer then honest?
I was told I was insulting because I told a person they needed to work on their grammar and spelling if they wanted to be in the Engineering field.
Do people really want honesty,or do they want to to be told only good things?

They're really just spoutting off.

Why would anyone seek help from unqualified strangers?
They're desperately seeking validation from anyone. They don't want the truth. They want someone to give them the answers they're looking for.

Sad, really.

For some, I think it is a little bit of both. There is a part of all of us that wants to know how to improve, but we don't handle critisism very well. It's just part of the human nature.

The truth hurts, they don't want to hear it probably.
