I have a few problems from which iPod to get. Here are my problems listen below:
- I am always downloading and burning songs. So far on my iTunes I have 864 songs and its 3. 58 GB.
- I really want to have the red iPod nano only because I really want to help other people.
-The nano (I will be getting) is 8GB. Do you think that should be enough for me? I'm actually buying it with my own money. Or should I get the classic?? Thats around 80-160 GB.
So what do you think??? Please help! For some who may not know what the question is, it is : What iPod should I get? The reasons/problems are above.
PS: If you have any way or idea that can help me reduce my downloading, please tell me because the computer has taken my free time away! PLEASE HELP! THE COMPUTER IS ALIVE!! -

it really depends. you could go for the nano 8 gb, but thats only if youre gonna have music and music only. if your planning on putting videos on it, then youre not gonna have enough space. so i would get a video. dont get a touch, youre spending $100 bucks extra for internet which is not always available, and not available when you want it.
-- so far, you'd be good for the ipod nano's. I think they come in 4 GB
-- i don't know if they still sell the product (red) ipods anymore. you can go to apple.com/store and shop ipods and maybe they'll still have them available online. or you can call your local apple store to see if they're still in retail.
-- memory depends on you. if you want a few thousand songs, get the 8GB. if you want your entire music and video library with your on the go, get the higher GBs. I did have the original nanos but then I wanted more memory, so I got the ipod 60GB video. currently, I have the iPhone.
-- I say get the iPod Classic 80GB, so that you have enough room for everything else and then some.
lol, there's no way to reduce your music downloads. there is always gonna be some new song out there every second! sorry, there is no cure =)
In fact I have transfered all songs (around 40 cd's of mp3's) and I only use 30 GB !!!!
I don't regret it because I will put some videos now, but I had absolutely overestimated the amount of space I was needing. I use mp3 with bitrates from 160k to 320k. Some people that are maniac with quality only use looseless file format that use far more space.
Maybe you can try the classic 80 if you want a big one and video, and if i's only for music, I would take an other brand with something like 20 GB. It's allready huge !
To be honest forget Ipod. Check out the Cowon D2. Sound quality blows Ipod sound quality away. Not only that but it comes with a SDHC card slot so you can expand your storage(Stuck with 4,8,etc when you buy Ipod), touch screen interface, plays multiple file formats, and 52 hours of audio playback and 10 hours of video playback(Compared to the Nano's 24 audio and 5 video). It also has a larger screen that is a 2.5" LCD screen that displays 16 milliion colors. That's no joke.
The players size is also close to that of the 3rd gen Nano. Only difference being the 2.5" LCD taking up most of the front.
Use the money you save by buying the Cowon and donate the money to charity if you really want to help someone. You'll be helping yourself as well as helping others.
I have an ipod video 30gb and half of the songs on there i forget about and dont listen to very often anyway. You should be alright getting a nano because you will beable to put on the songs that you really want to listen to. Otherwise get a ipod video 30gb they have them here on the apple store for a good deal at $179 with free shipping .........http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/9954001/wo/i34NMStzI26i3K1eDlz1jqP2Anx/2.0.0.28.9.5.7.1.3.1.1
