10 Year Wedding Anniversary Ideas?

Yes, I realize this question has been asked before and I did read a few of them but here is my situation: today is our 10 year anniversary and my husband isn't feeling well, we were going to go away for a night but those plans got shot. So, I need a romantic idea (other than dinner) or a gift idea. Please don't say trip to Hawaii - can't afford or give him a girlfriend - serious answers please. I've got 45 minutes during lunch to get a gift or make plans. and yes I realize I waited until the last minute but again we had plans to go away and they had to be cancelled so that was the original gift... And by the way I live in RI if that helps any.

My husband likes ATV riding, the Pittsburgh Steelers, movies, skiing, and relaxing.

PS He goes out with the guys when ever he wants - I don't stop him. We may be married but we are still individuals...

I've done the candle light dinner at home - any gift ideas going with the 10 year anniversary traditional or modern girfts? (tin, leather, pottery). Oh and he already has about 8 watches... All bought by me on special occasions

Is there a cater-a-spa service there? You know, manicure/pedicure/masseuse/facial, to come to the house?

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing: Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it! The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle. Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard. Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.

One of the best gifts I've received was a nice candlelit dinner at home, a burned CD of love songs picked out special by my husband, and a night of just the two of us listening and dancing to them.

Congrats! I would say just the candle light dinner, wine and good mood in the house. If I was sick I would not want much more then that. Keep the going away plans when he gets better.

You may think this is silly, although as a man myself, I think its a smashing idea.... Give him a note saying... "Free Pass for an evening of your choice to which you are free to go out with your mates, to wherever you choose, without a moan or a grumble from the one that loves you most"... Accompany that with a couple of beers & a take-away curry, & the man will be happy for another 10yrs
