I knew about Heath ledger's death and I knew about the movie (though I didn't bother to see it - Movie theaters are too loud) I also knew about Phelps mania but somehow didn't make the leap.

me too. i really didn't understand the wave of Phelps questions. I guess they were out protesting the Heath Ledger funeral cause of "brokeback mountain"

Phelps still pops up in the news occasionally. He still tries to picket soldiers' funerals and he's been lurking around the fringes of some of the political rallies. He's in the news this week because he claims he's going to picket Heath Ledger's funeral.

Yes, he's been in the news, because the WBC was allegedly planning to boycott the funeral of Heath Ledger, the actor who just died, since he was in "Brokeback Mountian," a film about "the gays."
BUT I heard that Ledger's family isn't having a service, so Phelps is outta luck.
