When it comes to the paintbrushes for your pets, are they one time use items and once you use it can you turn your pet back to it's original color?

They are one use items. Once you use them, they disappear. If you paint your pet then want to turn it back to it's original color, you're going to have to buy another paint brush or a potion to change it back.
