Well, I've found out the answers to things I was specifically looking for, and FAST. :o) I have been a member for over a year and in the course of that time have made over 30 friends from my 360 page. All of my friends have been SO supportive and kind, funny and interesting and inspiring. I'm very happy I decided to get into Yahoo!Answers. Worth all the pain to get to Level 7, ha, but it was fun and I'd do it all over again!

Yahoo! Answers has changed my life in some important ways. Recently, I have experienced a decline in my tutoring load and I really miss the opportunity to impart knowledge, to help others improve their understanding. That is at the very core of my identity -- I am a teacher! Answers has provided a forum for conveying that knowledge. Also, it has kept me in touch with the pulse of the people. I spend a lot of time in relative seclusion -- too much -- and this breaks down the barriers. Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather be asked to dinner, or socialize with others directly. I'd much rather build up relationships with real live people rather than merely experiencing them vicariously and sporadically as clusters of questions. People fascinate me; life fascinates me! If you can't have that as abundantly as you might wish, then I suppose that this virtual society of minds is useful if not completely satisfying. I will admit that there is one aspect of Answers that I've encountered that distresses me mildly. It seems that when I offer a particularly full and thoughtful answer, i.e. invest myself in helping the other person, some bottom feeder gives me a thumbs down or spitefully votes for no best answer when mine is the only one given. I don't think that the interest of this community of minds is best served by accepting such rudeness. By a similar token, I think that expertise -- real expertise -- is something to be celebrated. I wasn't born knowing any of this any more than others, and if my answer makes you uncomfortable because you think I'm "just showing off" I'd like to assure you that if I decide to show off you will definitely recognize it; it will be unmistakable. In short, Yahoo! Answers has shown me that someone had the ingenuity to create a forum for those who equate love with knowledge, and perhaps for the misbegotten, a forum that breaks down boundaries of time and place and connects people with strands of curiousity. Regrettably, those creators were unable to make that world of shared knowledge and experience an idyllic release because it is haunted by pettiness, indeed by darkness, reminiscent of that which too frequently diminishes our lives...

No words to express as i worked all my life since i am
13 and always considered my self below Level
But that did not stop my ambition to learn nor sacrifice my
hopes and dreams i made sure and continue to help children
and if i would not discovered you Ya-Hoo
my children would have thought their Mom was just a bully
and had no brain
i am self taught i found my wand in the *8'
way down in the bottom of that draw
SO THRILLED TO HAD FOUND THIS AND
YOU ARE MY REWARD
I WORK FOR YOU NOW ..
NO PROBLEM i love it AT YOUR SERVICE ,

Interesting question, I like it!! Anyway, to the answer: It has because it has given me great advice on things I really needed help on. Plus, in answering some of the questions that I've answered, I have realized many things that are so great about my life in the middle of typing. Yeah, totally corny answer, but eh...Plus, it's given me an addiction!! I love answering questions, and I don't know why!! The biggest reason is that I know I'm doing something good for someone else. It feels so great to help out!! You can almost feel your soul cleanse and feel happy!!
