I have a title that I signed over to someone. I took my car off the road and I no longer have the plates, because I sold the truck, now this person 3 days later wants his money back.
Im being nice by honoring this, but the title has his name on the back and I fear I wont be able to register and insure it until the title is clear which may be a few weeks.
Can I safely drive the car back unregistered and uninsured with his name on the back of the title??
I live in Massachusetts by the way. Thanks.

TELL him you sold the vehicle to him in good faith and that it is now his. Suggest that he sell if it he does not want it anymore. Is there a law in your state that someone has three days to change their mind? If not, it is a done deal and his problem.
If you can, take the guy to the DMV office and have him pay for the new title.
As far as driving it back to your place, do so at dusk, such as you are getting off of work and don't be driving fast, but it would be better to put the vehicle on a dolly and tow it back home.
If the title has not been re-issued in his name, then the title itself is still in your name, and thus, there is no illegality for taking possession, If you haven't given him the money back yet, then reduce the amount by the amount of having the title cleared back into your name alone.
Personally, I would tell the guy that it is a legal and binding deal, once his name went on the back of the title.
No, sorry. You didn't have to give him his money back of course, but you were nice and did that, now it will cost you more to get the title back in your name. Ask what you need to do, I would assume it will be a simple lost title and a duplicate issued, but ask to be sure. Of course it will cost you a little to do it.
Once you have the title fixed, you can get plates and insurance in place, don't drive it until all that is done.
So, is somebody a dumbass because of the fact they inform you the staggering ingredient, or because of the fact it rather isn't any longer what you decide directly to take heed to. to respond to easily, you like oil. Engine can not run without it. undeniable and easy. whether that's low on oil, examine it and fill it up. commence the vehicle and get out and walk around to the front and bend down and look decrease than the vehicle. seem to ascertain in case you spot oil POURING out. if so, you additionally could make it out of your community earlier it seizes. whether that's a small drip or some thing, take some oil on the holiday with you and stop in some situations and examine it. in case you haven't any oil, have your uncle deliver you some. the two way, in case you intend topersistent for 20 miles with a horrendous oil leak that's significant which you're ensuring it could even artwork to deliver it there first. Like I stated, pouring out isn't stable. Like a comfortable circulate of oil. A small drip could desire to be high quality.
It's illegal to drive any car that does not have insurance. As for the title, I'm sure a notary can clear this up for you because the sale was not final.
