Why do people hate ugly people?

I know I'm aesthetically repulsive. I've known it from the time I came into senses. But it's not like I chose to be ugly. If I had a choice, I would choose to be what we call "normal", or "average", not exceptionally beautiful.

My ugliness has not made me rude, and I never pick on others. I don't even have a problem with beautiful people. They are blessed and loved, and I can only wonder what it feels to be beautiful like them.

But why do people hate ugly people this way? With the cursing, "die" statements, open hatred and sick behaviour? We feel the same way beautiful people do, we feel the same joy and sorrow just like any other human being.

I agree we don't deserve a lot of things that beautiful people do, but do we not deserve to be treated decently just for politeness' sake, if not for anything else?

Thanks for the kind words everyone. It feels nice to know that there are so many people who think like true human beings.

I think I'll start spending more time with my family, since they are the ones who love me unconditionally. My little brothers are fantastic and my sis is probably the kindest person of earth, who shed tears when I was joked about for waking up the dead.

It's just that sometimes, the outside world gets a little too much to bear. But I guess the "good" wouldn't have any meaning if it wasn't for the "bad".

go see a doctor. get some meds. and TRY! if you workout, eat right, and take off stress, you can have beautiful skin, healthy hair, and a nice body. so even if you are ugly, the nice hair, body and skin will be a plus and make you NOT ugly. A positive attitude is always a bonus to getting a boyfriend, as well as a confidence. Being pretty for a lot of people is not easy, and you actually have to try! idk why, but i saw this thing on oprah the other day and it was about a girl who was about 20. she was fat, ugly, unhealthy. she decided to go vegan and everything in her life turned around for her. she is really pretty, has nice skin, has a great body, and feels amazing. i think she was bipolar too and it made her so much better, i mean she is on oprah now! i think her book is called the Kind Diet, but i forget her name... but try to find that episode if you want to try that. also, try going somewhere to get your make up done (maybe at the mall or something) and so it will help. ask if they know how to contour noses. (it is some illusion thing, it can look really good if you have a big nose like i do). but the main point is, loose weight and you will find so much more confidence.

The human hates ugly things no matter what, sort of like a pain receptor.
We rationalize In our heads that we shouldn't feel that way because our Consciousness has determined that this Is a negative way to look at another person but we can never get away from the physical aspect of the conundrum because our eyes and minds have concluded.

The funny thing is a lot of people think they are pretty that are really ugly and sometimes they get away with it...I think there is more to being pretty than just a face...its about attitude, confidence, and your personality. These things might not be noticeable at a glance but usually can be noticed..people who are ugly but have these qualities can still do very well in terms of attraction.

It's all in the brain if you ask me, if we never saw anyone better looking than them, how would we know that person isn't good looking?

Females have always hated me because of my looks. It hurts because I cant do **** about it., I'm a very ugly young man and I don't hang around my friends no more because they look way better than me and females always show them attention, but give me hate & despite. That's not a good feeling so I walk around with my head down and never look people in the eye when I speak to them.
