windows live mail? Greatest thing ever or Microsoft getting into my business?
Are they collecting data from my email and if they have all my account data will they be able to get all kinds of stuff? Or am I being paranoid?

You are probably a touch paranoid - but you are right on your first point. Windows Live Mail is an excellent and underrated email client. In my opinion, it is topped only by Windows Live Writer. You could also upload all your files to Windows Live Skydrive then Microsoft could keep even more tabs on you...:)
