we have called the cremation place, and they said she came in without the ring. and she passed away during surgery, so they couldnt get the ring off cuz of the swelling.

You want to ask the person in charge of the cremation. This could be funeral home or a mortuary. They are the ones who remove jewelry before cremation.

Hope this helps.

You need to speak with the doctor specifically to ask who was responsible for the removal of that ring, and speak with that person. I would file a police report that the ring has come up missing, and start checking pawn shops...I hate to say that, but not everyone who works in a hospital is on the "law abiding" end of things, if you know what I mean. Since people are required to give proper ID when they pawn something, with the police report filed, you can then get the ring back and file theft charges against the person who pawned it. I would also watch ebay and other sights.

I hope it is a simple mix up and that the ring is found. I'm sorry to hear of your family's loss.

if she was at the hospital when she passed away , someone who was with her at the time of death could have taken it family ,,friend or someone like that , or hospital staff , have someone go to the hospital that the staff wouldnt know and just peek at a few to see if maybe they are wearing it , might be worth trying

I think you should sue the doctor. He/she may have taken the ring. You should file a report for a missing ring. I hope you find it. Sorry about your grandma
