Occasionally (yours is quite commendable, I might add), but there are certainly other things to look at to judge the "ability" of a question answerer, in particular the types of questions they are answering. If someone gets a lot of "best answers" for questions like "OMG my bff jill just broke up wit her boyfrend wat shuld she do?" or "I'm 12 years old and am still a virgin is there something wrong wit me?"...a lot of "Best Answers" aren't competent answers at all.

I do look at it, but I don't believe I will ever use it to actually judge that persons answer, unless its about a topic I have no understanding of.
Either its best b/c their solution 'fixed' something, or its what the asker wanted to hear.

Yes, I do. And I'm usually just being curious, or just looking to see how many points they got they week, and if their answers to people's questions are interesting as well as the questions they ask!

No I don't. I prefer to judge them on the answer they give at that time.
