I actually just opened a website in which I am planning to do just that. A lot of people from Yahoo Answers go there, so maybe you would enjoy it. :)

That is the website. If you click on that, it will link you to the forums where most of the action takes place. The actual website is still being constructed, but the forums are basically finished.

you found a place to chat :) But most activists i know do a lot of their activism at the state capital or city center. In san diego there's a place called the center that provides that sort of thing for the LGBT community see if you can find that in your city.

You need to see if there is a local chapter of PFLAG in your area. If not them maybe you can start one. PFLAG stands for:
Parents,
Family & Friends of
Lesbians
And
Gays
