If China "invaded" Tibet in 1950s, how come all maps of Qing Dynasty from google search included Tibet?

I did a simple google search, ALL maps of Qing Dynasty(1644-1912) I find from all kinds of web sites have Tibet included on the China's map.

So how did China "invade" a part of China?

Aren't the mass media lying to everyone since the beginning with hidden political agenda?

Why are people protesting against China without knowing what really happened?

What really happened was
1. some monks protested
2. some thugs, mobs, took advantage of it and looted shops, banks(those belong to Han Chinese), then burned them down, they also burned cars belongs to Han, beating Han Chinese to death on the streets.
3. Chinese government sent more police/troops into Tibet to crackdown on the thugs, mobs.
4. Western Media used title "China sent more troops to crackdown Tibet protest". WTF?
5. Uninformed people in the western countries scream "Free Tibet", "boycott Olympics"...wow just wow.

Your opinions?

Stephert,
Your sources are biased.

Mr. X is one good example of brainwashed by propaganda.

dizerascal,
How silly of you. As the matter of fact, I am in the U.S. As far as I know, 99% Americans completely changed their view on China once they visit there. They all realized what kind of garbage the mainstream media is feeding them for all their life.
Of course you have no idea what is going on in Tibet. All you learned was based on the second hand information which are mostly lies with political agenda. As you have been fed with this kind of false information since you were born, you naturally accept it like "it is normal".
Very sad!

Gavin,
Great link!

That should expose some of the "free", "fair", "uncensored" news media came from "democracy" countries.

Too bad, what has this world come to.

I totally agree with you,

Tibet is and has been a part of China for many centuries, and a lot of western media is still playing the tired old cold war games that "whatever the east do is wrong" and a lot of mislead people simply think if they shouted out 'free tibet' will earn them a few heavenly credits.

Take the recent riot as example, no one in their right mind can call that a 'peaceful protest'.. it is just a mad mob went crazy robbing, killing and burning. it's nothing to do with the 'free spirit of tibetan people'.

If the tibetan people want to have more rights and freedom, I am all for it, but it must be peaceful negotiation between the central government and the tibetan group. western media should do what journalists do, be netural.

The sources used are no more biased than the sources that report the anti Chinese sentiment. I do believe the protests were organised by the Dalai Lama and the purpose to discredit China, and to convince countries to boycott the Olympics.
Can anyone site information that shows that Tibet ever was an independent country?
All governments, however, recognize the PRC's sovereignty over Tibet today, and none have recognized the Government of Tibet in Exile in India.

It is called western racism. Western people live in the illusion that they have freedom to speak and to think. But the reality is they have been constantly brain washed and controlled by propaganda and lies of their government so their government can justify their invasion and control of other countries.

They have been brain washed to think that they are the super race and every one else are inferior to them and everything they did is right but everything others did is wrong. They hide behind human right but the reality and history have proven that they care the least about human right. Iraq, Vietnam, Arab Philippine are the classic example.

However, the good news is more and more westerners have seen through the lies of their government. A very good article about Tibet by an American scholar explaining the history and background is http://www.michaelparenti.org/Tibet.html.

China is the only Asian country they failed to conquer in the past, and thus resulted in a lot of sour-grape attitude toward China. Despite all the modern weapons sponsored by the west, the Komingtan lost to the communists that are mainly farmers and scholars with knife and primitive weapon. Why? That's because most the chinese people sick of the western control, slavery and corruption. And that's by any definition called democracy. However, to the west democracy is democracy only when they have the control of other countries.

If you think I'm chinese, then you just shows your racism. Yes I'm from the east and have the intelligence to speak up against what is wrong even though it is not about my people.
