Need time saving tips for around the horse barn...?
I am looking for tips and/or design suggestions for my horse barn. Does anyone have any good ideas? (ex. PVC tubing installed to lead out to water trough so that you don't have to drag the hose outside to fill).

Rubber mats mean less bedding and so easier and quicker to muck out
This is a bit hard to explain but I'll give it a shot...
If you are looking at the front of a horses stall, on the left/right is the door. The opposite side of the door could have a rotatable feed tray so that you don't have to enter the stall to feed the horse, you can just flip the tray to your side, put the grain in then flip it back to the inside of the stall. Above that could be a rotatable hay trellace where you would do the same.
A few people I know have automatic watering systems, where once a horse has drinken a certain amount of water, it automatically refills.
For mucking out stables, be sure to use wood chips, not straw. Straw may be cheaper but it makes a mess and most horses will eat the straw without regards to its nutritive value which is basically 0. Wood chips are faster to clean out.
Rubber matting for sure with shavings over the top. Auto waters ( but I do like the pvc pipe on a tap idea too - my horse is afraid of the auto waterer !) I prefer hayracks to nets - much easier to fill.
