First of all, I must say I REALLY like Brooke White, she seems to be the most genuinely lovely person, and I could listen to her all night.
BUT. I honestly thought that she tanked on "You're So Vain" and "Every Step You Take". She does not seem -- and to me, did not sound -- strong or nasty enough for either song. She was not believable to me. I know the judges LOVED them, but did anyone else share my reaction?

BLUEANGEL, I am not trying to make her seem or become nasty, for heaven's sake. That's just the point. The lyrics themselves on those two songs that she chose are NOT pretty sentiments. The second, in particular, is dark and sinister.

I also think Brooke is truly a lovely person and genuinely as wholesome as she appears to be on TV. I also think that is exactly why she won't win. Her 'goody goody-ness' shines through on every performance and, sadly, it makes her too one dimensional.
Oh, I thought she was fantastic with both songs. I really like Brooke, too. Maybe she would seem more believable to you if you just closed your eyes when she is singing. Her smile must be taking something away from the performance for you. :) I think the stage presence will come to Brooke. She's just so happy to be there, she can't help but smile while she's singing. :)
NO!!!!! and she already said she will not get nasty! what she did last night was very professional why would you want NASTY on a family based show is way beyond me, but it dont matter. we are gonna see the first male vs male sense Rubbin/Clay, and it will be Michael J/ David C and good luck to both of them but i think David C will win i have said it from the start and i stick with it now hope you have a great day!

I think she has a pure and natural voice, she's very talented. I like the fact that she simply sings and plays the piano. That's who she is and she's great when she's in her element. I thought the judges would get on her about the mistake she made at the beginning of "Every Step You Take." Why'd they crawl all over David when he messed up but let it go when she made a mistake? The judges can be a little hypocritical sometimes.
Brook is the girl hippie.. seems like that was how she was raised Love,Love, Love , Flower child-like . I think her parents did a damn good job with her. I don't think she has a mean bone in her body.
