What are the charging pressures for a domestic window type air conditioner?

I am trying to charge a window type air conditioner and i am not sure about how much refrigerant to put in because the unit does not specify. Is there a specific back pressure that i should look out for when charging. And how can i be certain when the unit is charged with the correct amount of Refrigerant [R-22]  what sort of physical differences will i notice. But most importantly if some body can please tell me the correct charging pressures for a domestic 9000btu window type air conditioner.

get your suction pressure up to about 65 psig, check the current draw and make sure your ok, yea you should call a pro but window a/c's of this size are so cheap that if it doesn't work, what have you lost, then just go buy a new one. Don,t charge it over 65 psig and you will probably be fine. Oh yeah, be sure and fix your leak while your at it and evacuate before you charge.

Pressures are temperature/humidity related.
My rule of thumb: If you can't fix a window unit with a garden hose, replace it.
Most window units simply need cleaned.
These things are not expensive, and will normally cost less to replace than paying someone who knows what they are doing to repair them.
I've only been doing this 35 years, so I could be way off base.

how do you know it needs r-22?if you dont know what the pressure should be whats your superheat sub coolant leave it to a pro

You can't. This is a job for a licensed pro. You can't even buy the freon.
