How do you cook a perfect "sunny side up" egg?

You would think that this being my favorite of all breakfast foods I would've mastered the art, but alas I have not! How do I make them???? :( I want them for breakfast tomorrow!!!

The trick to perfect, beautiful sunny side up is heat butter about 1 T. in skillet (non-stick) on med. heat.
Break egg in cup
Pour egg into hot butter, reduce heat to low and cover.
Cook till white is done and yoke is still runny. about a min. or two.
The trick is hot butter then reduce the heat and cover.

Heat a pan on medium heat on the stove and throw in 2 tsp. of butter and let it melt. Crack 2 eggs directly into the heated pan. Be careful not to break the yolks; clean out pieces of the eggshell that may fall in. Let the eggs cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Once the egg whites that are furthest from the yolk begin to firm up, but the whites by the yolk are still uncooked, lift and angle the pan towards the yolk. This allows the uncooked part of the whites to move and cook.
Slide the cooked eggs onto a plate and enjoy.

Preheat a non-stick skillet under medium heat for 1-2 minutes

Add 1/2 teaspoon butter and an equal amount of vegetable oil (not olive oil). The oil raises the smoke point of the butter but still allows for the butter flavor.

Crack the egg into the pan and cook until the white is slightly crispy around the edges and the top looks set.

Slide onto your plate with pre-buttered toast or english muffin

'Sunny side up' — cooked only on one side; yolk is liquid (the oil or fat may be used to baste the sunny side, however.) This is often known simply as 'eggs up'.

* Heat a pan on medium heat on the stove and throw in 2 tsp. of butter and let it melt.
* Crack 2 eggs directly into the heated pan. Be careful not to break the yolks; clean out pieces of the eggshell that may fall in.
* Let the eggs cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Once the egg whites that are furthest from the yolk begin to firm up, but the whites by the yolk are still uncooked, lift and angle the pan towards the yolk. This allows the uncooked part of the whites to move and cook.
* Slide the cooked eggs onto a plate and enjoy.

Really the key is to get the pan hot enough before you crack the egg and put it in. Grease the pan and let it heat up for a min or so. Then, leave it alone. Let the bottom of the egg solidify until it lifts easily with the spatula. When the egg is opaque on top, gently flip it over but for just a few seconds! The yolk is what you want, so don't over do it.

The way you can screw it up is to put them into a cold pan (they seem to bond with the pan if you do), mess with them too early, or cook them on the top side too long.
