tutoring tips!!??

i am a10th grade girl and am going to tutor a 7th grade girl in algebra. i never have met the people. my first session is on moday. so i am really nervous, not really about the whole tutoring thing, but talking with the parent the first time (we talked on the phone about when and where to start today, but thats it). like the mom will probably be there for most of the time for the first session, right?? im just kinda nervous. 
any tutoring/parent tips????!!!! please and thank you.

A tutor main purposes is to replace a teacher when not able to assist students. No parents will be present. Its like you're in charge. You introduce yourself. You ask the student what areas of Algebra they're having problems with. You make an outline of study habits for them to use when they go back home. You give them examples to where they will understand when the Teacher is explaining it to the class. Its more like a travel guide in math. Before you begin you may want to do a small assessment test. See how far back this student is with algebra. Some may say they understand it but they don't. All you do is keep them interested to want to learn and pass algebra.

1. Get to know your student first. Once the rapport is established, the rest will follow smoothly.

2. Be sincere to want to help. Find out the student's problem areas and work with her closely, based on her learning style and ability.

3. Be sure of the content. Teach the right concepts and the right problem-solving approaches.

review basic algebra or the algebra for the 7th grade, so when you get to tutor your tutee on that day yuo won't flunk
