What happened to the old days?

I used to remember I could wake up all night and study or work and create programs like crazy ( I am a programmer ), was motivated and I never felt lazy to work on anything. I use to open up my PC and laptop and clean every device and my own room. Now, deadlines passes, I feel sleepy at 11:30, more depressed than before, haven't clean my room in months or the PC. You get my point right? My brother said that its the age. I am getting old.....

What shall I do.....?

You are probably burnt out....need lots of rest and excercise and good nutritious food, a regular schedule of sleeping and waking, long walks in nature appreciating the beauty and expressing gratitude for this wonderful creation we live in.
If you get up at sunrise or just before is even better, and go outside and inhale the new energy, and look at the rising sun for a few seconds, you will revive real fast and also drink alot of good clean water to flush the toxins out of your system...no doubt you have some bad habits and probably do not put the best things into your body for health. You also probably eat at the wrong times of day as well. I suggest that you go to www.ayurveda.com and get some good advice on how to live right and eat right.

Grow some flowers in your garden, or if you are in an apartment, grow herbs and flowers in pots...that will also brighten you up.

I don't think age has anything to do with how your habits and motivations have changed. That said, the passage of time may have. It is difficult to be motivated day in day out, year on year, if you are doing the same things, writing programs in the same area of business/language/ide, it gets so, been there done that, that motivation begins to die.

I think you need to use some organizational skills to regain some control over your life, particularly in areas such as tidiness and looking after your equipment etc. Plan to address these things on a regular basis. Your environment will influence your motivation and depression.

Next look at diet. If you lack energy and feel tired more often than not diet can play a part. Remember that today are the days that in ten years time we will refer to as the 'good old days', they are what you make them or at least try to make of them. Then there is exercise, feeling fit and healthy can influence both depression and motivation.

Finally you may need to consider talking to someone. That might be a psychologist or personal trainer and all the professions in between, depending on your needs, the extent of your depression and your ability to drive yourself out of the hole you feel you are in.

be safe, be sage

Welcome to the reality of being human, life is a journey, fill with pleasure and pain, times of great activity, and time of contemplation, a learning process that will continue until the day you leave this place.
After many years here, the best I can offer is to remain in the now, and apply positive pressure, that will impact in a positive way on the future. If you maintain that attitude you will be able to create the reality you want. and one that is comfortable for you. All my best to you sincerely. Oh by the way the "old days", are lost somewhere in the continuum and exist no more.

Sorry, but this is called Becoming an Adult and Having Responsibilities. It drains your mental and physical energy and leaves you unable to party all night. It doesn't really have that much to do with age, just that as we get older we tend to take on more responsibility. If you look at people with very few responsibilities (no job, no kids, etc) they often sit up late at night watching TV 'cos they're not tired. At the other end of the timeline, elderly people often tend to need less sleep.

It sounds to me like you need organization. Start setting a time to sleep, maybe ten or eleven.
That way you can feel more energized during the day and thus you will be able to get more done!

Start a new and fresh way of life, i know you'll feel better! Lack of sleep and organization sure does make me depressed.

Let me know if you're still feeling crumby, love.
