Does anyone think Roger Maris's HR record should be reinstated?

...due to the steroid controversy. The fact that anyone besides a Yankee holds that record makes me sick.

I think Barry, Mcgwire and Sosa are all cheaters. Once it is proven (yeah right) his record should be reinstated. All four were great ball players but only one was man enough to do it without cheating!!!

I'm NOT a Yankee fan. It's not that I detest the Yankees organization but I loathe the waste of human lives in the form of the Steinbrenner family. They're a great reason why abortion should be legal.

That said, I'd love to see Maris' record "reinstated" - even though it isn't really "gone." (That is, to say, as the all time leader for single season homers) Null and void all records in the steroid era. Who knows how many homers Mantle would've had in a single season if he had HGH to help him heal throughout the season. He was on pace with Maris for most of the season.

I may not be a fan of Barry Bonds but no matter what is said or thought about the guy, he holds the record for homeruns in a season & put an * by his name but it doesn't take away the 73 he hit that year. What McGwire took at the time he broke the record wasn't illegal at the time & could be bought at GNC if I am correct.

Sammy Sosa was never mentioned in the Mitchell Report, so basically, the record should go to him and his 66 homeruns.

Maris' 61 homers in 1961 and his 275 career are still in the historical records. They haven't gone away.

73 (or 70, or even 62) is a larger number than 61 in this universe.
