How has Triple H been "stealing the spotlight" when it comes to the WWE Title?
Since Triple H's feud with Batista in 2005, Triple H has not had many WWE Title matches. Since his last shot at the WHC, which was at Vengeance 2005 in June, these are the only PPV events that Triple H has had a WWE title shot at:
Wrestlemania 22, April 2, 2006: Lost to John Cena by submission
Backlash, April 30, 2006: Lost a triple threat match to Cena, which also involved Edge
No Mercy, October 7, 2007: Defeated Randy Orton for the title Defended the title against Umaga Lost the title to Orton in a Last Man Standing Match
Wrestlemania 24, March 30, 2008: Lost a triple threat match that involved Cena and Orton
Backlash, April 27, 2008: Won a 4-way elimination match that involved Orton, Cena, and JBL
So, I've seen a lot of people saying that Triple H is "hogging the spotlight" and "always gets title shots." How has he been doing that when he's only had 5 shots at the belt in 3 years? Also, his 11 prior reigns only total ~29 months. Please explain this to me.

I think Triple H wouldn't need nearly as many title reigns if WWE didn't make him drop it after 1 or 2 months on so many of them. If he had 3 or 4 reigns that were 6-9 months each, he would have held the title for exactly the same amount of time, but would have had a lot fewer reigns.

Jeez...
It seems like all of these people are not making a good case against HHH. Seriously, whether or not he's doing Stephanie McMahon is not the biggest factor here.
I will admit right now that he is not my favorite wrestler, nor do I think he is as good as people have made him out to be ever since he won the 6-man Elimination Chamber at No Way Out. Most people are on his side because they hope he turns heel like his past days, not because he's a good wrestler that deserves the title.
One reason he hasn't been in the spotlight a lot is because of leg and neck injuries. That is one major reason he was not in the spotlight often. If HHH did not take time off for injuries, he would still be main-eventing like when he was in Evolution.
And seriously, who cares how long his title reigns were? They still count as title reigns! Most people can't handle long reigns these days anyway, so there's no point in arguing about his reigns averaging 3 months. And why does he need 11 or 12 World title reigns anyway? He is established as is. HHH already has enough status to not need to win the title so many times. He should be helping pave the way for future talent without decimating them in storylines or matches.
**starred**, though you won't see my point. Bring on the thumbs down.
You are right. he has not been hogging the spotlight. He has stepped down and has let others shine, but people still complain. I'll admit that yes I was a Triple H hater back in the early 2000's, and still not my favorite wrestler but my opinion and perception on him has changed a lot. Like I have said before my gripe with him is just how bad he makes some other wrestlers look at times, to get himself over, that's it. I've never hated on him for using his pull backstage, or that he is married to Stephanie. He was bound to be a star one way or another, Stephanie or no Stephanie. I think the only different thing would be how much pull he has in the creative department and will maybe have about 2 less title reigns. I think lots of fans say he hogs the spotlight because they were also haters during the early 2000's and are still stuck with that mindset and are too stubborn to change how they think of him, won't give him another chance. So in closing, even though I am an Orton fan, it will be refreshing seeing Triple H with the title again, he DESERVES it.
His feud with Triple H. Being a HUGE Triple H Fan, I really was looking forward to the feud because it was something different. Sheamus putting him out of action, in storyline, was more than enough for people to really consider him the threat he is in storyline. BQ: I'd like to see Sheamus and Triple H have a small feud before he moves onto something Bigger. BQ2: I'm not but I'm looking forward to Sheamus Vs Morrison because it's a big undercard match and it features two underrated talents.
I have to agree with you that he is not hogging the spotlight. In fact, I believe that he is doing an excellent job of doing just the opposite. However I will say this, being married to stephanie damn near ensures that he will be in a very good place for however long he wants too be. It just comes with the terrirtory. I'm not holding it against HHH, because it's to be expected.
was out of WWE for 5 months after Vengeance 2005 and hurt his leg at NYR 2007, so that's over a year accounted for there.
Little things like having a 2 hour title reign which suspiciously takes him closer to Flair's record, There is no need for a 2 hour title reign except to get another number on your name to Flair's record
