Removing iron burn marks from jeans?

Question

I am a nurse at a blind rehab center. One of my patients heavily starches all of his clothes, and has accidentally placed iron burn marks in 2 areas on a brand new pair of jeans.

I would normally tell him to call it a loss, but he is a homeless military veteran on a very slim income and he had paid to have the pants altered also.

These jeans are white, and I was thinking that maybe the burn marks could be bleached out. What type of bleach should we use?

Has anyone tried this or has any tips on fixing burns marks on clothing?

From the helpful hints section of my washer's manual:

Scorch marks: For scorch marks on clothing,
soak the area in a 10% solution of warm white
vinegar. Some fabrics can then be bleached
using hydrogen peroxide or chlorine (always
test an inconspicuous area first).

I don't know if it will work, but it is worth a try.

You can try to bleach them, but in my experience, there is no way to remove a burn mark. 
Sorry.
Maybe they could be dyed.
