the core is about 15,000,000 C

the surface is a trickier question to answer. How do you define the surface of a ball of gasss with no real edge?

We usually think of the surface of the sun as being the layer on which sun spots and so forth are. This is about 5500 C.

It is intersting to note at this point that the outer atmosphere of the sun is actually over 1000 times hotter than the surface, despite being further fromt he nice warm core.

In addition to the response above, There are also dark spots on the sun which are actually quite a bit cooler than everywhere else.
