The Buddha isn't God, never claimed to be, never wanted to be.
I am a Buddhist and I hardly know anything about Siddhartha. Why? Because like me, he was just some guy, 2600 years ago, looking for enlightenment.
I don't worship him.

Buddha existed way before Christ, so no. Buddhism also doesn't require the worship of a higher power, so Buddha clearly didn't find god either. It's true he didn't want to be worshiped, and Buddhists don't really do that.

We don't know if Buddha was of the one true God or not. It is possible, as well as Muslims, that they are brothers in Christ, just another branch. God is the judge, not us. That is why we are to pray for all men everywhere, to lead a quiet and peaceable life...(1 Timothy 2:1-5)

I do not think Buddha would like it if he believed he was worshiped.
Buddhism does not stem from Christ or Christianity since Buddha existed many years before Christ. Though the teachings are so similar that I believe Christ was aware of Buddha and did not disapprove of his message.

Buddha was a Philosopher and knowledge seeker, his followers however elevated him to a god. Buddhism began in 563 B.C so its centuries before Christianity.
