Domestic dog vs mountain lion?

If one of the following domestic dogs met a mountain lion in the middle of the woods, who do you think would win?

Note: The mountain lion is a full grown adult male, at 190 lbs.

How would these dogs do against a mountain lion of that size?

This question just ended when Auron responded. Has anyone seen that video. It shows a Dogo Argentino thrashing a Cougar. It's being trained to hunt. I just saw a couple of other videos of Dogos, Kangals and Ovthcarkas fighting cougars and winning as well.

By the way, the Mastiff in the first picture is 343 lbs. I don't think a cougar would have much of a chance fighting an animal that weighed 150 lbs more then itself.

Aurons answer was the best, but some idiot deleted it. For that, none of you get "Best answer", because the best answer is no longer here. Way to go.

I really don't think weight has much to do with it. Mountain lions take down prey that weighs more than Mastiffs all the time. It has much more to do with survival instinct, which is dulled in the domestic dog. It also has to do with skill and the fact that a mountain lion won't eat if it isnt successful in the kill.

Another poster is right. The dog would never see the lion until it was too late.

Wow, and you still haven't guessed it? We could give a **** about points here. Animals lovers just don't want to see videos of animal abuse on this site. Get a clue and realize this site is NOT about points.

Mountain lions are pure muscle. They have speed and agility on their side, not to mention size. The only dog that looks like it would even have a chance is the first one, but even that one would be no match for the lion's claws. A dog would have to bite and clamp down to do any real damage, whereas a large cat could scratch it's sensitive eyes and nose from farther away to disable it. A domestic dog, even one bred to fight, would be no match.

The last dog, the Dogo Argentino is the only dog bred to hunt large game/dangerous game. He's the only one who'd stand a chance. The Neo would probably have the second best chance. The "English" Mastiff (who's real name is just the Mastiff) is no longer genetically capable of extreme aggression not to mention is huge, cumbersome, and would get tired quickly. That furry dog looks more like a fearful dog that a dominant aggressive dog which is what hunting and working breeds are supposed to be: Dominant Aggressive. They also have to be "hard" dogs which means they don't give up, and they don't respond to pain, they just fight harder. I'd say the Dogo, they're bred to hunt jaguars, mountain lions, and wild boar.

-edit- Btw, a Mountain Lion isn't crap compared to a 250 pound boar with 3 or 4 inch tusks, a Mountain Lion wouldn't dare tackle that. And a mountain lion and a boar are kittens and piglets compared to the Jaguar. The Jaguar is the Pitbull of the large cats. His head is huge, he's very athletic because he's designed to chase prey in the rainforest, imagine chasing a boar or other large fleet footed game animal through a dark rainforest. Also imagine they sometimes carry their prey up trees like Leopards do. Imagine dragging a deer up a tree....with your teeth....A pair of Dogos can bring down boar and jaguar.

-edit- JESUS DID YOU GUYS SEE THAT VIDEO!?!?! That's disturbing! But like he said, that answered the question pretty quickly....

Mountain lions are able to take down prey as large as horses. They have 1.5 in. long canine teeth and dagger-like claws, and they are known to easily kill wolves, even occasionally in seconds. As dogs don't need to hunt/fight for survival. Being domesticated, their humans feed/protect them. It is very rare for a dog to kill a mountain lion, and there is usually a story behind it. I would have to go with cat on this one.
