Bones: Why does the FBI have to rely on the Jefferson Institute?

I just started watching Bones and it is a fun series to watch. What bugs me is that the FBI needs the constant assistance of the Jefferson Institute to solve crimes. Why? Do they not have something like CSI?

The FBI doesn't allways need the assistance of the Jeffersonian Institute. They only help in cases where they are needed, such as cases that need evidence to go to court, or cases where the bodys are to decomposed to identify.

Because Dr. Brennan (bones) is simply the best there is at what she does, and she has a whip-smart team

That's all.. an agency like the FBI would make use of the best recources it can find..

that resource (BOnes) just happens to work for the Jeffersonian..

Good series.. worth watching..
