For yahoo mail you need upgrade to yahoo mail plus to get
the full pop3 service for access to outlook,incredimail,
thunderbird, and others.
And use the new yahoo mail servers address.
* Incoming Mail Server (POP3): plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
Use SSL, port: 995
* Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication
Click this link for yahoo mail pop3 settings

It sounds like you have Windows Mail set up but can't get the emails to come down to your computer. If so, this should help.

I would guess that you either have a Yahoo account that isn't eligible for POP access without upgrading or that you haven't set it up in Yahoo yet. I kept getting asked for my password before I discovered I needed to set Yahoo to allow POP mail access. Try this:

Sign into Yahoo Mail.
Click Options.
Look for "POP access and forwarding" - if that's there, you don't need to upgrade - click on the link.
Click the "Web and POP access" radio button and set the options you want for Bulk mail.
Click the "Save changes" button.

If that hadn't been done yet, chances are that you can now access your emails.

Also, I read recently that the new y7mail was giving trouble with POP access but I don't know if it still is. Someone said in another answer that you should go back to Classic if your POP mail wasn't working. I can't speak from experience here because I was using Classic anyway.
