Four yrs. ago, I joined a book club. (Book of the Month Club)
They say that since I haven't ordered any books, I have to pay $81 and then they will give me a voucher for books upon my payment.
Do I have to pay them? Do I have to pay the $81.00?

You joined the book club. You were supposed to order so may books a year after you joined. You did not. Now they are charging you 81.00 ( probably for the free books they sent you when you joined.) Yes, they can collect the money from you. Always read the small print.

They will put a black mark on your credit rating. I learned long ago not to fall for the free book scam.

No you do not have to pay for something that you did not order.
