First off, it's Ryan Doumit, and he's absolutely beasting the ball right now. Let's not kid ourselves though, he's not going to hit .350 all year, and he still loses time to Paulino even as dominant as he's been.
Look at this trade this way: Hawpe over Doumit; Mauer over Ibanez; ARod over Atkins. Team B carries the advantage in each exchange. What sense does that make for Team A?
I like this trade if I own Team B I get a huge upgrade at C as well as 3B. Atkins is good for ARod is arguably the best in the game right now at 3rd . Plus, I don't lose much (if any) by replacing Ibanez with Hawpe. One problem is that if you're in a league of active owners you may have trouble getting the trade approved. It's been my epxerience that trades involving name players routinely run into roadblocks. People will look at the trade without doing the homework and veto it because of ARod and Mauer.
Are you kidding me? There is really no trade in Fantasy baseball that can be made involving A-Rod where the team GETTING A-rod wouldnt be better off. The guy is hurt I'll give you that. But in a week and a half when he comes back he's going to come around...he's a proven stud and the best player in the game. I would actually say that A-rod and Mauer are STILL worth more than the other 3 players being offered. Team B is getting a STEAL in this trade and TEAM A is either a fantasy rookie or very impatient.
