What type of TV/sound system should I get?

I currently have a 7 year old 32" tv. I also have a 7 year old 5.1 surround sound system/DVD player. Attached to it all is the digital cable box, a NIntendo Wii and a little used XBox.

I want to upgrade to a flat screen 42"+ TV but with so many models I would like your ideas on what to get.

What brand, size can I get for the best prices? Where should I look? Wally World, Best Buy or some other place?
What kind of sound system should go with it?
I'd like something with wireless rear speakers, the ones I currently have have long wores that reach but looks aweful running across the ceiling or floor. Thank you all for your input.

Do this step by step...

FIRST Get a SONY LCD panel TV...or a Panasonic Plasma OR WAIT until Mitsubishi releases their LASER DLP this Christmas....

THEN upgrade to a DENON amp....I'd suggest one of their $800 to 1200 units because they are Heavily Constructed and will easily give you 20 years or more without fail.....

Lastly, most WIRELESS speakers can only give you about 50 Watts if you're lucky....

But this one....IN THEORY could deliver about 150 to 200 watts....

But THEN I look at the specs....

And I NOTICE it can only deliver 1/3 of it's TOTAL power continuously....

And that's a 50 Watt amp in my opinion, not a 160 Watt like they want you to believe.....

So.....buyer beware !

Just Google Wireless speakers and you'll see.....
