My husband tried to remove the old one with pliers and broke the tray off. I now am stuck with the old cover stuck in the laptop. Help.
I know how to replace a dvd and CD.

Honestly if your husband is that mechanically challenged (no offense) you should just take it in for repair. Going after a DVD drive with a pair of pliers is just so wrong. lol
Anyway I can't tell you the Optical drive you need without more info.

Take it to a tech shop. You could end up doing more damage if you don't know how to replace the tray properly especially if there is still part of it stuck there.

reccommend not to let your husband use pliers anywhere near laptop or any computer ever again ;)
